Topic: Changes to VMWare

VMWare was recently bought out wasn't it, by Microsoft? I know that they had issues with VMWare for a while so the acquisition is likely to have been good from their point of view. But have they changed anything within VMWare since the sale?

I'm not running it but have no heard of, nor could I see word of changes made that were related to the buy out. I would imagine, at least in the short term that nothing would change.

As far as I am aware VMware is not owned by Microsoft, they are huge competitors. The release of Hyper-V, and the fact that its free with Server 2008, appears to be aimed at the VMware market.

VMware is not part of Microsoft, there have been a few big firms buying and selling shares in different VT companies in order to provide appropriate market coverage but at present they are competitors.
