Topic: TimeZones-IT

TimeZones-IT seems a wonderful piece of software for multinational companies who still want to use thin clients linked to the one server. But does it have to be installed (embedded) on the local machine or on the main server?

Re: TimeZones-IT

I believe that it is installed on the server and then deployed via whatever network you are using. The user can then choose to alter their time zone for that session in progress to match local time.

Exactly that. The software needs to be central within the network (i.e on the server) so that it can be distributed to all connected clients.

Re: TimeZones-IT

That looks like it would be a very useful application at least in some industries.  Much better than trying to guess what time it is and ending up working in opposite directions.

Re: TimeZones-IT

More importantly unknowing, some applications are time and date sensitive. It wouldn't be much use running a calendar application if it reminded you of an event five hours wrong. So this helps you to synchronise your users to their correct time zone.

Re: TimeZones-IT

Ok so is this something that you would have to request? It wouldn't be a standard installation would it, on most system set ups at least?
