Altiris-Application Conflict Elimination

One of the claims that I am seeing regarding Altiris is that is eliminates software conflict. But I'm curious how it does this. I know that it virtualises some software but doesn't it also host for on demand delivery, some software? Isn't there a risk of some of these applications clashing on the server?
