Topic: Single Application Workloads?

As I said previously, I am a manager in training at a restaurant, but I would love to own my own someday. I noticed in some information about the Optiflex 160 about Single Application Workloads. I was wanting to know if Point of Sale is one of the applications that could be used on it.

Re: Single Application Workloads?

good question. I'm not really very clued up on POS software but in theory any sofwatre that runs on a normal PC will run in a virtualized environment too, so I can't see why it would not work.

Re: Single Application Workloads?

I am sure Point of Sale can be run on it, but I am not sure. It'll take some research and hopefully you can figure it out. smile

Re: Single Application Workloads?

Alright, I will see if I can find some more information that is geared specifically to hospitatlity and POS systems. Thanks for the help smile.

Re: Single Application Workloads?

Point of sale would seem to be a perfect example of the ideal distributed system, but this would require rather more specialist equipment. Most POS systems use a touch screen of some sort, so I would imagine that you would need to buy specifically a touch screen monitor, rather than a keyboard. That said, this should work well.

Re: Single Application Workloads?

HP do a Touch screen monitor L5006tm, the touch part is controlled by USB connection to the PC. I don't know if would work with the Optiflex 160 but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.
