Topic: Is it really worth the price?
At $6050, I would imagine it was a super computer itself. I haven't really delved much into products that deal with App Virtualization, but this seems a little ridiculous to me.

It is rather expensive, but I think it is aimed at large networks (up to 50 clients). The time savings this provides will also save its users money in the long term.
In short, yes, I do think it is worth the money if you are the sort of organisation that would use this kind of kit.
I was wondering, I don't know why it didn't occur to me. Yeah, it could really save a lot of money, especially with money spent on labor with them doing an easier job.
In my opinion VMware need to look at the pricing of this product. To me it seems like Xenocode solution is much more reasonably priced. I haven't looked into the indepth differences but it would seem both Xencode's solution and VMWare Thinapp offer essentially the same benefits but one is massively more expensive than the other.
Ultimately they HAVE to be selling this at the current, high price, or else they wouldn't be able to stay in business. The most expensive version is more than $8k! That's massive!
Of course yes, it has fifty licenses and three years support. And yes I realise that it reduces man hours. But really, what does it do that Xenocode doesn't do?
The one difference I see is that Xenocode has a per seat price. Does this mean that the package that you buy for $1599 is just the server only, and then you have to add on your workstations one at a time? If that is the case then a comparable system would cost $3549, still a lot cheaper but then I'd have to wonder what else it is missing compared to VMware.
As far as I can see there is not much difference between Thinapp and Xenocode except the price. But I guess a little more investigation is required.

I can't find anything that Thinapp does that Xencode can't do. There must be something that justifies the almost double costs but if there is, I can't find anything out about it.
