Topic: Wyse For Data Entry
I used this at a temporary Data Entry job I had a few months ago, it was really amazing. It had excellent performance, and I know it is really worthwhile. Has anyone else used it for Data Entry?

I used a V10L Dual DVI a while ago and have to say that its a seriously nice bit of kit. I wasn't using it in a data entry capacity (well unless you class programming as data entry) but with dual monitor support I don't reckon you could go wrong with a V10L or any other dual monitor client that wyse offer. In my opinion Wyse offer some of most solidly build Thin Clients on the market at the moment. Have a look at the V10L product page here http://www.wyse.co.uk/products/hardware
/index.asp. Hope that helps ![]()
I've not done data entry no, but it does seem like it would be an ideal use for these systems. Many users all at once can be adding information to the same database-perfect.
I haven't used it for data entry, yet, but I've been using a netbook for that kind of activity, and I must say that it worked pretty fine. I'm guessing that you won't have any trouble using Wyse for data entry.
I have a friend that used the Wyse exactly for that, and he didn't seem to have any troubles at all, everything worked great. I'm sure you won't have issues if you try it. Let us know if you ever try it and what your experience was.
I can't see any reason why this type of work should produce any difficulties. You will be working on a thin client using a standard, if Virtual, desktop. What ever you can do on that under normal circumstances, you should be able to do on a thin client. This is assuming you have taken the trouble to make sure your client box has the required specs, as you would with a desktop.
There is no reason why any system running all but the most intensive applications should have a problem. So long as all the correct checks are done prior to aquiring the box's. But there are so many variables such as server, networking, VM styles, OSs and all the rest, that I can't see how anyone could answer the question with out a full inventory of kit and software to be run on the system.
