Topic: Ever actually tested one?
I'd like to hear it from people that have actually used a HP thin client at least for a couple of days. Does it feel different than an usual PC? Is it slower, is it hindering in any way?

My cousin has one at her workplace, and she's thrilled about it. She says she can do her job faster and with more ease, especially since it works like a charm and she's not distracted by other things, such as music and whatnot.
Assuming your IT/MIS department have done their Jobs when supplying you with your machine, there should be no real difference using thin client over a desktop. Obviously connectivity will be an issue but only when its not there.
I was thinking they should be slower or something, but I've never actually tested one, so I'll trust those that did. dataman is probably right too.
The Windows Terminal Server was designed to deliver this technology over low bandwidth which is your biggest problem. I'm pretty sure the technology as well as the bandwidth has improved a great deal since then.
So you think they should update the Windows Terminal Server in order for the clients to move faster and better? Isn't there another software ready to do the job properly?
Thanks a lot guys, I think I've got my answer now. As expected, if everything works out smoothly, there shouldn't be any kind of differences in using a thin client over a desktop computer, provided it's just work and not video games.
