Topic: Smart phones and PDA's

Is anyone here using smart phones or PDA's in their daily life routine? I currently own an iPhone, but I'm not really that pleased with it. After using a friend's Blackberry, I found the iPhone to be lacking. I'm planning on switching soon. Anyone else?

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

I haven't even made it into the I-phone group yet.  smile  I guess I just don't think I really need it.  I hardly ever even use my cell phone anyway.  (Although, secretly, I would love to have a Blackberry to play with, even though I'd hardly use it!)  I just LOVE new toys!

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

I have a Palm computer, and I use it from time to time. It all depends on whether you need the gizmos or you don't. Personally, I think I'd like to have an iPhone just to test it and what not.

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

I have an old HP Journada running Embedded windows (3.11 for workgroups I expect) I use it for email, excel and word, it works well enough for me and only cost $40. I suspect the iPhone is a little more expensive.

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

Isn't that old HP Journada, with Windows 3.11 a little bit too slow and outdated? I don't know if I could get used to the system, however, I haven't tried one yet so I can't really talk about it.

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

From what people have told me, I am behind the times as i don't even have a cell phone of any type or any kind of PDA.  I don't want a cell phone as I don't see the need in my life and I prefer an old-fashioned phone and address book and perhaps a pad of paper over dealing with another electronic gizmo.

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

Not even a cell phone, jenna2? That sounds a little bit extreme, are you never out in the city, needing to make a call? What about all the times you're going on a trip and need to have some sort of mobile device to communicate with your close ones?

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

I've got a Blackberry, an older model. It works great, can't find a single problem with the model. I've got my email with me, my internet feeds, everything I need in terms of communication.

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

Nice, someone else with a Blackberry. I'm thinking of buying the latest model, the one with the touchscreen. Did anyone get to play with it, get a feel for it?

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

I'm also lagging behind in this department. I have a rather old cell phone-I've had it for five years but it has only been in use for twelve months total as it was from another country and when I brought it to the US the protocols in use here were wrong. I've just got it going recently again.

I cannot stand the PDA keypads. I have a laptop, internet where ever I need it so I don't see the point in subjecting myself to the thumb cramps.

Re: Smart phones and PDA's

I have an iPhone and I like it. It's so easy to use, and you can buy all sorts of apps for it, it's just perfect. I don't need anything else, really.
