Topic: how can they guarantee like this?

The claims for their Jack PC are that they are completely theft-proof, virus-proof, and data-secured.  I'm sure that at the moment they could say that but couldn't hackers discover a way to compromise it should they put their minds to it?  They've managed to compromise everything eventually.

Re: how can they guarantee like this?

I would say its a safe bet that yes, eventually people will find a way around that. But right now it stands.

Virus wise yes it is safe because the client doesn't hold any data-the risk would be someone managing to put a virus into the data being stored on the server. Theft proof is fairly relative too because I'm sure some people would stop at nothing to get a device away.

Re: how can they guarantee like this?

I would just think that if anything did get compromised, the company could be held liable to a degree because they made such a broad promise.  Most companies are not so eager to make promises that they may not be able to keep.

Re: how can they guarantee like this?

You know you're right, and that's actually a very reassuring thought. If they were not prepared to stand by their products then they could not and would not make claims like that.

Re: how can they guarantee like this?

You know, Arthur, I hadn't thought of it in that light but that makes sense.  I may have to look further into their products because I believe that you bring up a very good point.

Re: how can they guarantee like this?

This is true I guess. They know that if they make grand claims that people will call them on them if things go wrong. So they have to trust the stuff themselves-a rather wonderful recommendation I think.

Re: how can they guarantee like this?

It's safe at the moment, but bear in mind that nobody would want to compromise a thin client, at least not now. So they're betting on that too. Other than that, of course, all systems are hackable, no doubts about it.

Re: how can they guarantee like this?

I wonder how long it will be before they are hacked?  It seems like the hackers are much further ahead in technology than the actual companies themselves.
