This sounds like a serious load of software functionality for what seems to be a pretty good price. Am I missing something? WMwares top package starts at $4k thats not much more than an new HP Proliant server.

There is a lot of it and a lot of information to get through to find out what it all does and where it does it. Its value I guess will be become clear once you understand all of what it can do for you. It looks good to me but I am still trying to understand it.
From what I've seen if your running in a Microsoft Server 2003 + environment and you just want to run thin clients, its not that big a leap to keep with Microsoft. Your already running most of the required licences and most of the required software is either already in your Server OS or is free.
Of course if you keep with Microsoft Server 2003 and Terminal Services you shouldn't have to worry about your Chips and IO's being compatible with the new technology. You should also be able to run testing on what ever old kit you have knocking about.
